The “FYI”

My sessions are a mix of classic portraits and candid shots. My goal is to get a nice mixture of both. I love a family photo where everyone is posed and smiling nicely for the camera but I also love getting the fun shots of jumping in the air, and the pure joy you see on a child’s face when they have just thrown an arm full of leaves up into the sky.

Within two weeks you will get your confirmation from me that your portraits are ready to be viewed. Most times I get them done before that time. I try to over deliver a promise.

This gallery will remain online for 30 days to allow you the opportunity to view and share your photos with friends and family. Within this time you will be able to order your portraits and products. A $30 re-uploading fee will apply should you need longer than this standard 30 day policy.

What to wear:

Clothing is an essential element to portraiture and can serve to help create a specific mood, look or feel to your images. Simple, trendy or fun layered outfits, as well as solid colors photograph well. However, it is best to avoid solid white or black. Embrace color!  Photographs that feature vivid, fun and eclectic clothing really pop with visual interest, while very loud prints and logos can distract from portraits and are best avoided.

As far as shoes are concerned… I love bare feet. When possible, you will probably be asked to kick off those flip flops and let your toes feel the earth. Feel free to accessorize with brimless hats, scarves, vests, and leggings. Colorful knit hats and beanies look great on children. Newborns are best photographed in nothing at all.

You are welcome to bring a selection of different outfits to your session so we can mix and match depending upon the location. Clothing options will be discussed in detail during the pre-session consultation.

FAQ: 

* What is a “Session Fee?”
The “Session or Sitting Fee” is the charge for rendering my professional services. It covers the photographers’ time, an assistant if required and expenses. This fee does not include any photographs.

* Scheduling Appointments.
I schedule all sessions -BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. This also includes appointments to view images, to place an order, wedding consultations or album pick-ups and returns. This will allow me to give you my best service and undivided attention. Should situations cause you to be late, please call me so we can attempt to adjust our schedule accordingly. I take pride in my record of being punctual with my appointments.

* Appointment Reservation Retainer
To schedule your appointment, it must be reserved with a retainer for the amount of the session fee.
This can be done by placing a credit card on file with your reservation or pre-paying by check. I cannot hold your appointment without one or the other. Studio appointments canceled at least (2) two business days in advance will not incur any charges. Cancellations with less notice will be charged for the session fee at the time of cancellation. This charge will be applied in full to one rescheduled date within a 30-day period. “No Show’s” are charged without option for reuse or refund.

* Can you remove my blemishes or Lines in my Face?
I have the ability to retouch and remove anything in your image that you don’t like. I pride myself in being a high quality portrait studio and I can take care of these needs. There is NO additional charge for airbrushing and retouching. Please ask us about what all is available to make your portraits perfect!

* When Is My Payment Due?
The session fee is due in full the day you book your photo session. Portrait orders are to be paid in full at the time of ordering.

You may reorder any portrait online with payment by credit card at the time of the order.

** Cancellation Policies. Very important, Please Read!

* What if I am unable to make my appointment?
I am always in touch with you and confirm your appointment several days before your photo session, but please be advised that it is your responsibility to keep track of your appointment date and time.

I do understand that people get sick, or events happen sometimes, and people are unable to keep their appointments.

If you cannot keep your photo session appointment, please call me and me know, at least 24-hours prior to your appointment, so that I have the opportunity to schedule another person for that time. The earlier the better. As a photographer and a mother of young children, I only take 2 appointments per weekend and a missed appointment is economically damaging to Michelle Towne Photographys business.

If you call to cancel and it is LESS THAN 24 hours before your appointment time, then your session fee will be billed and is non-refundable. You will be required to pay a new session fee to schedule a new appointment time.

If you are unable to make your appointment, and you DO NOT CALL, and YOU DO NOT SHOW for your appointment, you will be billed a non-refundable $100, NO SHOW FEE. You must speak to a person and get a cancellation code. Call 320-249-8492 to cancel your appointment. You must speak to a person to cancel a Saturday or primetime appointment.

If you fail to show for a “primetime” or Saturday appointment, there will be a $200, no show fee billed. If you have a credit card on file, your card will be run for this fee. If a card is not on file, you will be sent a bill in the mail.

The photographer (Michelle) does everything in her power to make all appointments, however she is human, just as you are. There are times when family emergencies may call her out of town, or she gets ill or injured.

In the rare event the photographer is unable to make your appointment, someone will notify you by telephone as early as possible. If I have to cancel or reschedule your appointment, then you will be given a $20 gift certificate good towards your portrait purchase package as a sign of goodwill.

There are no other photographers currently on staff to cover for the me, and I regret this inconvenience.

*It is understood that Michelle Towne Photography is the exclusive official photographer for your session and that no other photographer (professional or amateur) shall be allowed to photograph during requested service.*
